FREE Foundational Family Services - IN-PERSON
Lego Nights for 6-12 year Olds
Show us your best Lego creation or come to hang out with other kids who love Lego too!
Please join the team at Canopy Support Services with a chance for your child to show off their best Lego creations in this mini social skills group. Your child will create a new Lego creation and learn about the importance of appropriate social skills.
The session will have a theme for the Lego creation, and will also cover a variety of social skills. Topics could include communication, listening and following directions, providing/accepting constructive criticism and recognizing sarcasm, as well as identifying emotions.
This group is designed for children aged 6-12 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum disorder, who are registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).
Please note, an OAP number is required for all in-person events.
This group will be offered IN PERSON. This group will be held at our Cobourg office at 975 Elgin Street West. Parents should park in the parking lot, proceed towards the main doors labeled "The Offices of 975 Elgin Street" and an Autism Services representative will meet with you, introduce themselves, and show your child into the building.
During the group session, there is the option for the parents to stay, have refreshments, ask questions of a Coordinator, and meet other parents with same-aged children.
